Civic Killer? Kia Forte Koup SX Road Test Video by Inside Line

Full Article & Photos on Inside Line: http://www.insideline.com/kia/forte/2010/2010-kia-forte-koup-sx-full-test-and-video.html The 2010 Kia Forte Koup wants to be a Honda Civic and it's pretty easy to understand why. The Civic has an image of fuel-efficiency that is supported by eye-catching styling and driving dynamics. The Kia Forte Koup so wants to be there. Lots of cars have tried to become the Honda Civic — like the Chevy Cobalt, Mazda 3 and Scion tC — but Honda still sits on top of the sales pyramid. The Civic represented 339,289 sales in 2008, and when the recession began in earnest in June 2008, the Honda Civic was even the top-selling vehicle in the country.

Civic v Corolla v Mazda 3 Consumer Comparison by Edmunds.com

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/do/vdp/articleId=126610/pageNumber=1?flushCache=true As so many Hollywood blockbusters have proven, if something works once, why not try it again? Last year, we decided to try something completely different by inviting six regular consumers to do a comparison test of three popular midsize sedans — without the sponsorship of a specific manufacturer. They poked and prodded each car using the same criteria Edmunds editors use when evaluating a vehicle. The result was an enlightening experience for the consumers involved, the Edmunds.com editors and, judging by feedback, the readers at home. For the sequel, we rounded up three economy sedans: the two best-selling models (Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic) and the one we consider to be the best (Mazda 3). We also invited a fourth dark-horse contender to the party, but the Mitsubishi Lancer that showed up featured a fancy stereo, a sunroof and a $3,000-higher price tag. It was disqualified before the test started for being too far out of the price range. As such, the remaining three contenders were priced within $479 of each other, giving our testers the chance to see how much equipment each brand provides for basically the same amount of dough. Each car was also right off the boat (or train), with miles in the low hundreds or less. In other words, nothing was given an undue advantage. Here's a rundown of the cars.

Honda Civic Hybrid vs. Honda Fit Sport Comparo

SEE THE FULL COMPARO: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=135206?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..4.* They're not fast, they don't corner hard and they're certainly not the most pulse-quickening cars we've ever tested at Inside Line. But if fuel-efficiency and utility are priority items in your next car purchase, then the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid and 2009 Honda Fit Sport are unbelievable machines. Combining economic operation and utility like few other cars sold today, either of these Hondas is a responsible choice for the buyer looking to save fuel, minimize emissions and haul the family. Each has its own unique qualities — important distinctions that can't be overlooked. The question, then, is which is the better car? To figure it out, for two weeks we used the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid and the 2009 Honda Fit as they're designed to be used. We drove them to work, loaded our families in them, packed our groceries in them and took them to the track to measure their performance. We argued the merits of the Civic's superb fuel economy vs. the Fit's exceptional utility. In doing so, we designed this test to suit the priorities of a buyer looking for reasonably priced utilitarian transportation. Accordingly, fuel economy and price make up the majority of each car's total score at 25 percent each. Performance, feature content and our 29-point evaluation score make up 15 percent each, while editors' personal and recommended picks combine for the remaining 5 percent.

Honda Civic Hybrid Review - Kelley Blue Book

FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/NewsAndReviews/VideoLibrary.aspx Honda Civic Hybrid. Honda introduced the first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle to the American market in 1999, although the two-seat Honda Insight captured few buyers. But soon after that step, Honda took the hybrid vehicle concept to primetime in its hot-selling Civic line. Now a second-generation Honda Civic Hybrid has arrived, and it has improved upon its predecessor in every way possible. It looks better, rides better and offers much better integration between gasoline and electric propulsion. At the same time it is both more powerful and more efficient than the previous model and offers a feel much closer to its key rival, the Toyota Prius. Welcome to our comprehensive Kelley Blue Book review of the Honda Civic Hybrid. The Civic Hybrid is now capable of running on electric power only, but the most significant enhancements are in ride, handling, styling and comfort -- improvements that have benefited the entire Civic lineup.
