EAT THE GUN - Viva La Insane

The brand new Eat The Gun "Viva La Insane" video clip was shot during their festival tour in the summer of 2009. The band is shown as down to earth, energetic and funny as they truly are. Director Peter Büscher who already directed the Solitary Sinners video clip in early 2009, accompanied Eat The Gun not only on but above all behind the stages. In teamwork with the Berlin film production company TOTHO five hours of material were cut down to a three-minute video clip showing the band unmasked. The result: Three minutes of pure RRRrroocK! Watch it and for gods sake: pump up the volume and blow your speakers! http://www.eatthegun.com http://www.myspace.com/eatthegun

Franz Ferdinand - L. Wells

The video for "L. Wells" is in black and white, and features many venues in Glasgow, Scotland, including The Château, where Franz Ferdinand played many songs in their early days. It follows a woman going around Glasgow. However, this woman is not the Lynsey Wells about whom the song was written. Lynsey, originally from Maghull, Liverpool, was actually on holiday assisting in an orphanage and church in Africa when Franz Ferdinand decided to release the track. The video is inspired by Rita Tushingham in A Taste of Honey and, particularly, Julie Christie in Billy Liar. Lynsey is played by Saskia Pomeroy, a student at Glasgow School Of Art. None of the members of the band appear in the video. The video premiered on MTV's UK website on 24 March 2006.

Franz Ferdinand won the 2004 Mercury Music Prize. The album has since sold over 3.6 million copies worldwide. The album is notable as one of the very few modern albums that are not compressed to the max in participation of the loudness war. Chart performance The album entered the UK album charts at #3 in February 2004 and at #12 on the Australian ARIA album charts in April 2004. The album entered the Billboard 200 album charts on April 26, 2004, and climbed slowly, peaking at #32 in December 2004. It reached #2 on the Heatseeker chart for new acts. As of September 2004, there have been five different singles released from the album: The "Darts of Pleasure" EP reached the top 50 of the UK singles charts in September 2003. The song was notable for its homoerotic lyrics such as "stubble on my sticky lips" and "beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor". The singer, Alex Kapranos, stated in an interview that the song was written about two friends of his — "It was one night when me and the band were out with friends from Glasgow, and we went to this warehouse dance party thing called Disco X. It was a very debauched night and these two friends got it together in a very sexy way." Lyrics: This is where I'll be so heavenly, so come and dance with me Michael So sexy, I'm sexy, so come and dance with me Michael I'm all that you see, you wanna see, so come and dance with me Michael So close now, so close now, so come and dance with me, so come and dance with me, so come and dance with me Michael, you're the boy with all the leather hips, sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips Michael, you're the only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want Beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor Michael, you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore Michael, waiting on a silver platter now ... and nothing matters now This is what I am, I am a man so come and dance with me Michael So strong now, its strong now so come and dance with me Michael I'm all that you see, you wanna see so come and dance with me Michael So close now, its close now, so come and dance with me, so come and dance with me, SO COME AND DANCE WITH ME Michael, you're the boy with all the leather hips, sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky hips Michael, you're the only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want Beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor Michael, you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore Michael, waiting on a silver platter now ... and nothing matters now Michael, you're the only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want only one I'd ever want (twice) Beautiful boys on a beautiful dancefloor Michael, you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore Michael, waiting on a silver platter now, nothing matters now, nothing Matters now but you YEAH... Reception Franz Ferdinand received universal critical acclaim. The NME said that the band was the latest in the line of art school rock bands featuring The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Duran Duran, Roxy Music, the Sex Pistols, Wire and Blur. It rated the album as 9 out of 10 and said: "This album is the latest and most intoxicating example of the wonderful pushing its way up between the ugly slabs of Pop Idol, nu metal and Britons aping American bands. What these blossoming bands have in common is the absolute conviction that rock 'n' roll is more than a career option." The BBC's review of the album said: "At only 38 minutes long Franz Ferdinand may not be a particularly long album, but it is a masterpiece of funky, punky, suave cool from the first track to the last." The All Music Guide rated the album as four out of five stars and said: "Franz Ferdinand ends up being rewarding in different ways than the band's previous work was, but it's apparent that they're still one of the more exciting groups to come out of the garage-rock / post-punk revival." The album received an extremely positive 87 rating on MetaCritic[1] putting it among the top 100 albums rated by the site. The album is featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Lyrics: I only watched her walk, but she saw it I only heard her talk, but she saw it I only touched her lips, but she saw it I only kissed her lips, but she saw it Gonna have to tell her tonight (x4) She only blinked her eyes, but I saw it She only swung her hair, but I saw it She only shook her hips, but I saw it She only licked her lips, but I saw it Gonna have to tell her tonight (x4) Hey, have to tell her, you tell her tonight, yeah I'll have to tell her, you tell her tonight, yeah I'll have to tell her, you tell her tonight, yeah I'll have to tell her, you tell her tonight I only watched her walk, but she saw it I only heard her talk, but she saw it I only touched her hips, but she saw it I only kissed her lips, but she saw it Gonna have to tell her tonight (x4) Hey, I'll have to tell her, you tell her tonight, yeah You have to tell her, you tell her tonight, yeah You have to tell her, you tell her tonight, oh yeah On Set: Alex Kapranos -- lead guitar, lead vocals Nick McCarthy -- rhythm guitar, vocals, keyboards Bob Hardy -- bass guitar Paul Thomson -- drums, percussion, backing vocals Andy Knowles (touring only) -- drums, keyboards, guitar
